SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION FOR TEENS
“In those days Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and He spent the night in prayer to God. When day came, Jesus called His Disciples to himself, and from them He chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles.” Luke 6:12-13
Grace and Peace to You from the Christ the King Disciples & Apostles team.
Teens who are enrolled in high school as freshmen, sophomores, or juniors and have not yet received the Sacraments of Baptism, 1st Eucharist, and/or Confirmation; Christ the King offers a 2-year program designed to prepare them for the sacraments of Baptism, 1st Eucharist, and/or Confirmation. The first year of our sacramental preparation, the teens are considered Disciples, and the second year, the teens are Apostles. The two-year sacramental preparation includes weekly Mass, Life Nights and/or EDGE Nights, Wednesday classes, Service Hours, Super Saturdays, and a retreat.
The Diocese of Phoenix requirements for those receiving the Sacraments of Initiation states that each teen must display an openness of heart through:
- Mass attendance
- Consistent attendance at formation sessions
- Participation in a retreat
- Willingness to participate in community service
